Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Borough of Greenwich

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a HLTA for a ‘Good’ rated school based in Greenwich. HLTAs are expected to have an increased level of responsibility than that of other support staff due to having advanced classroom experience. Therefore, suitable candidates will have a strong sense of responsibility as they can often be required to work independently with little help. The role is located in  with great transport links. The school requires the individual to be available full-time and open to work across both KS1 and KS2. The role is primarily for the term with the possibility for the right candidate to stay on longer. The enthusiastic HLTA will work closely with the schools teachers in helping planning and delivering lessons during PPA and to cover absences.

Role

  • Leading the whole class, small groups of pupils or 1:1 intervention work
  • Establishing relationships with pupils and senior professionals to support work of pupils
  • Attending staff meetings and contributing to the development of the school
  • Ability to follow plans effectively and efficiently
  • Preparing and developing resources for learning activities
  • Reporting on the progress made by pupils

Requirements

  • Experience working as an HLTA
  • HLTA qualification is not essential but would be preferably
  • Demonstrate that you meet the 33 HLTA professional standards
  • Have English and maths GCSE at A-C grade
  • Ability to use ICT to support your work
  • Excellent knowledge of the KS1 and KS2 curriculum

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
