Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Burnage to recruit a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a full-time position starting in November 2026.

The Role

As a key member of the school team, you will work closely with teachers to support learning across the school, deliver targeted interventions, and provide classroom cover when required. You will play an important role in creating a positive and engaging learning environment where pupils can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

As an HLTA, you will:

• Support teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons
• Lead small group and one-to-one intervention sessions to accelerate pupil progress
• Deliver lessons and provide classroom cover when required
• Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment
• Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development
• Prepare learning resources and assist with assessment activities
• Provide tailored support for pupils with additional learning needs
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals

About You

The ideal candidate will:

• Have previous experience working as an HLTA or in a senior teaching assistant role
• Be passionate about supporting children to achieve their full potential
• Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Be proactive, adaptable, and confident using their own initiative
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Have a strong commitment to inclusion and pupil wellbeing
• Hold an HLTA qualification or possess equivalent experience (desirable)
