Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire
Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR (Negotiable based on experience)
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2025

Lead Their Science Department as Head of Science

Are you an ambitious and inspiring science educator ready to take the next step in your career? Do you have the vision and leadership skills to drive excellence in teaching and learning across the sciences?

Our client, a mainstream, state-funded senior school for girls with a mixed Sixth Form based in Kettering, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of Science to lead a committed team across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. This is a fantastic opportunity for a current subject leader or an outstanding teacher looking to move into middle leadership.

The successful candidate will be responsible for raising achievement, driving curriculum innovation, and leading the department to deliver outstanding outcomes at both GCSE and A-Level. If you're passionate about inspiring young minds and developing a high-performing science team, they would love to hear from you.

What They’re Looking For:

  • A qualified teacher with a strong science background (Biology, Chemistry or Physics)

  • Proven experience of teaching Science to GCSE and A-Level

  • A successful track record of raising achievement and leading initiatives

  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills

  • A strategic thinker with a passion for curriculum development and staff development
