Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire
Salary: MPS/UPS + Leadership Pay Scale
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent

Are you a passionate and visionary Physics leader eager to inspire the next generation of physicists? Do you have the expertise and leadership skills to drive excellence and innovation in Physics education?

Our client, a mainstream, state-funded senior school for girls with a mixed Sixth Form based in Kettering, is seeking a dynamic Head of Physics to lead and develop their Physics Department. This is an exciting opportunity to lead teaching across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, fostering a deep understanding and enthusiasm for Physics.

As Head of Physics, you will be responsible for shaping the Physics curriculum, supporting and mentoring staff, and driving high academic achievement. Your leadership will be essential in delivering engaging lessons that challenge and inspire students of all abilities, especially those progressing to A-Level Physics.

What They’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status with strong subject expertise in Physics

  • Leadership experience within a science or Physics department is highly desirable

  • Proven ability to deliver inspiring Physics lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with confidence teaching A-Level Physics

  • Strong commitment to inclusive practice and supporting learners of diverse abilities

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and team management skills

  • A forward-thinking approach to curriculum development and science education innovation
