Cover Supervisor – Alton – Immediate Start

Teaching Personnel is seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Alton, with positions available to start ASAP. This role is an excellent pathway for graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals wanting to build a long‑term career in education.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Lead pre‑planned lessons across Key Stages 3 & 4
  • Maintain a positive, organised and focused learning environment
  • Uphold school behaviour policies and support classroom routines
  • Supervise classes across a variety of subjects
  • Offer additional support to students with SEN / additional needs where required
  • Encourage engagement, participation and positive behaviour

This role provides a realistic, hands‑on introduction to teaching and secondary school life — perfect preparation for PGCE, teacher training or future TA roles.


The Ideal Candidate

We welcome applications from motivated individuals who have:

  • Experience working with secondary‑aged students (youth work, mentoring, tutoring, coaching, etc.)
  • Confidence in managing a classroom setting
  • The ability to support young people with additional or special educational needs
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport
  • A proactive, adaptable approach and genuine interest in helping students thrive
  • A desire to explore a career in teaching or education

Graduates from all academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply — no teaching qualification needed.
