Cover Supervisor – Basingstoke (Start ASAP)

Full-time | Part-time | Flexible Hours

Teaching Personnel is supporting a welcoming, community-focused secondary school in Basingstoke to recruit a dedicated Cover Supervisor to start as soon as possible. This is the perfect opportunity to explore a future in teaching while gaining hands‑on experience in a school rated “Good” by Ofsted.


The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring learning continues smoothly throughout the school day. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons across Key Stages 3 & 4
  • Managing behaviour effectively in line with school policies
  • Creating a calm, focused and purposeful learning environment
  • Supporting students with additional or special educational needs
  • Building positive, professional relationships with pupils

This role is ideal for developing classroom presence, behaviour management skills and flexible subject knowledge.


Who We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from individuals who are:

  • Graduates considering teacher training
  • Unqualified teachers looking to gain classroom experience
  • Confident working with students aged 11–16
  • Adaptable, proactive and comfortable leading a class
  • Strong communicators with the ability to motivate and engage learners
  • Passionate about helping young people reach their potential

Experience in a school or youth setting is helpful, but not essential — full support is provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
