Graduate Teaching Assistant - York

Teaching Personnel are working with an alternative provision, Special Needs School and a number of mainstream Schools in York and surrounding areas. Our partner clients are seeking Graduates to join them for the rest of the academic year and from September 2019 for the 2019/2020 year. We are looking for passionate and committed staff to join our supportive team of Teaching Assistants in York.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant you will be responsible for supporting teachers in the organisation of their classroom, resources and give advise to students to help them achieve academic and personal development targets. Ideally you will have some experience working with children, or will have an Education focused Degree, but most importantly have the drive and enthusiasm to inspire pupils and teachers within an education setting. Crucial to this role is the ability to coach and develop pupils in their learning and development and the successful candidate will be someone who is excited and motivated by this responsibility.

We are seeking interest from Graduates with the following:

  • Relevant Degree with a 2:1 classification or higher
  • A passion and drive for wanting to work in Education, either as a Teacher or Teaching Assistant
  • Confidence whilst working with small groups and on a 1:1 basis
  • Some experience in an educational capacity would be advantageous; either voluntary or through a placement
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good level of Literacy and Numeracy skills
