Graduate TA – Stockport. Easter to July

One of Teaching Personnel’s client schools near Stockport requires a Graduate Teaching Assistant to start after Easter on a full-time temporary basis. The school services an affluent catchment area and boasts excellent exam results each year thanks to a dedicated team of teachers and support staff who provide a top-quality level of education for all their students. The school is situated just north of Stockport and is accessible easily from Stockport town centre as well as from Manchester via a 12-minute train journey from Manchester Piccadilly.

The role will involve working with students in either a one to one or small group setting, helping them within lessons, ensuring that they have a complete understanding of tasks and can complete their objectives in a timely fashion. This will also involve helping students to improve upon their literacy and numeracy so that they are able to complete the challenging work set for them by the class teacher. The Teaching Assistant will also liaise with the class teacher on a regular basis to discuss each pupil’s progress/attainment and how best to cater towards each student moving forward. Some of the essential requirements and pay information are listed below:

  • Pay: £83 - £93 per day (Based on a 6.5 hour working day) depending on experience
  • Must have an Undergraduate Degree Qualification
  • Must have strong Literacy & Numeracy skills
  • Must have a desire to work with and help young people

The role would appeal to anybody looking to gain valuable experience of working within a classroom setting, perhaps with an eye to eventually completing a PGCE and gaining QTS. It is not essential for the candidate to have school-based experience (however this is desirable), as long as the candidate possessing experience that would provide transferrable skills such as working with young people in youth clubs or anywhere outside of school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
