Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a Graduate as a Teaching Assistant for an upcoming role in September 2023. The role is set to last until the end of the academic year and the pay will be between £1500 - £1700 per month. Our client secondary school is located in the Cheadle area, in Stockport.

Our client is looking for someone with a passion for working with young people, we are considering applicants of all experience levels although history working or volunteering with young people is welcomed.

Examples of ideal candidates we are looking for:

  • Graduates holding degrees that could be used to develop students’ subject knowledge.
  • Sports coaches who have transferrable skills to keep young people engaged.
  • Healthcare workers who have experience supporting adults or children with additional needs.

Our partner school has a number of students with EHCP’s, it will be your job to work with the SEN department to ensure these pupils are receiving the support they need. Another role you will assume is to help Year 7’s who are struggling to adapt into secondary school life, you will act as someone to give them advice and reassure them. You will receive all relevant training to ensure you can provide the best support to the pupils.

Characteristics and skills our client is looking for:

  • The ability to communicate feedback to pupils, clearly stating the positives and areas of improvements and able to provide regular, high quality pastoral support.
  • Able to liaise with Teachers and Leadership staff to help identify which pupils would benefit from extended support.
  • Can differentiate teaching so learners of all abilities and styles take the maximum from your sessions.
  • Can connect and engage with students from diverse backgrounds.

The school has links to the A6 which runs straight into Manchester with secure onsite parking, a train station a short walk away from the school with regular services running to and from Manchester Piccadilly and a bus stop on the school’s doorstep with multiple services running.

Should you be successful, to be considered you must provide a full DBS check and 2 references from former employers. (Character references are accepted if you have not had 2 employers).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
