Are you a graduate considering a career in teaching?
Would you like paid work experience in Primary Schools near you to help you decide if teaching is the right path for you?
Are you planning to enrol on a school based teacher training programme?
Our Future Teacher Programme could be ideal for you!
What is the Future Teachers Programme?
The Future Teachers Programme is a scheme across England & Wales, designed to help address the current shortages of teachers, by attracting and supporting graduates who are considering a career in teaching, but wish to gain paid school based experience prior to starting a teacher training course.
How does it work?
You will begin your journey to teaching as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, ideally on a full time basis, working at one or a number of our client Primary Schools near where you live for up to a year. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will engage in a range of tasks to get a full feel of what it would be like to be a teacher, from supporting pupils with their studies in small groups and 1:1, to assisting class teachers across all departments including your specialism and getting involved with planning/delivering your own lessons!
Upon successful completion of your experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will begin a school based teacher training programme from September 2020 within a lead training school.
What are the benefits?
You will have the opportunity to gain a year's invaluable experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant with our reputable partner Primary schools, and progress with one of the schools to do your teacher training on site! Best of all, you will earn up to GBP1,200 a month for your first year whilst enhancing your confidence, subject knowledge and teaching ability prior to beginning your training.
Am I eligible to apply for the Future Teacher Programme?
Applicants interested in applying to our Future Teachers Programme are required to be educated to degree level or have completed your degree by summer 2019. The schools welcome applications from graduates across all subject areas, however, a degree relating to education is desirable such as; Early Childhood Studies or Primary Education.
To be successful in gaining a position on our Future Teachers Programme, you must have a genuine desire for becoming a Primary School teacher and must also be able to commit to the programme on a full time basis (Monday - Friday 8.15am - 3.00pm) from September 2020 until July 2021. We anticipate the additional need upon the schools reopening and understand that candidates will want to seek experience, dependant upon when the schools reopen, prior to September start.
For immediate consideration to our Future Teachers Programme, please upload an updated CV via the link on this page or contact the Hull and East Riding Branch for more information!
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
