Are you a Final Year Student set to graduate from University with an ambition to teach in secondary school settings in the future?

Would you benefit from a Graduate Teaching Assistant role which will allow you up to 9 months hands on experience before applying for a teacher training course? 

If so, please see details of an exciting Graduate Teaching Assistant opportunity which is open to all graduates and aspiring teachers in the Wigan area;

  • Graduate Teaching Assistant
  • Full-time position starting in September 2020.

  • Typical earnings of GBP65 - GBP75 per day.

With the current and ongoing situation surrounding Covid-19, our partner secondary school located in Wigan have identified that they will need additional support from Graduates and aspiring teachers in the new academic year.

Following several successful introductions in previous years the school are looking to recruit graduates specifically to support the main classroom teachers and students transitioning back into everyday school life in September 2020.

This is an excellent opportunity to shadow and learn from experienced members of teaching staff in your specialist subjects, gaining the necessary experience in both a teaching and a classroom support capacity. Prior experience working within a secondary school is not necessary as full training will be provided from both Teaching Personnel and our client school.

Typical roles and responsibilities; 

  • Leading Intervention and Tuition sessions in school. 
  • Delivering pre-set resources in the absence of the main classroom teacher. 
  • Supporting students transition back to school after some time away from a normal routine.
  • Online teaching opportunities for students having to stay at home due to shielding.

Our client secondary school is;

  • Smaller than the average Secondary school with 680 students currently enrolled.
  • Situated in the centre of Wigan – With good public transport links.
  • An ever-improving secondary school looking to continue in their massive improvements over the last 18 months.
  • Easily accessed by car and has onsite car parking for staff working within the school

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
