Are you a graduate looking to gain experience in a secondary school setting?

Are you interested in becoming a Teacher and want to experience the classroom before committing to teacher training? 

 

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with Secondary Schools across Bradford who are looking to appoint Cover Supervisors and Teaching Assistants. As a Cover Supervisor or Teaching Assistant you will be joining a school with a supportive staff team that provides opportunities for development via their regular CPD courses. An ideal candidate will be confident in delivering lessons to up to 30 students and display positive behaviour management techniques. You will be asked to take on varying responsibilities depending if you are working as a Cover Supervisor or a Teaching Assistant. 

Requirements and responsibilities

  • Experience working with young people.Earning up to GBP1200 per month.
  • Deliver pre-planned lessons to groups of 30-35 students.
  • Work with small groups supporting those who aren't reaching the full curriculum.
  • Support students on a 1-1 basis.
  • Be confident in implementing schools behaviour policies.
  • Hold a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
  • Fantastic opportunity to increase future teacher training applications.

This work varies from casual day to day placements ideal for a flexible working life, to more fixed term placements (1-6 months) providing you with that fast introduction to a school that suits you. Working as a cover supervisor or teaching assistant will give you first hand experience of delivering lessons and managing behaviour in the absence of teachers. It will also allow you to refine your skills in adapting to meet pupils individual needs.
