Graduate Intervention Tutor (Applications welcome from all subject areas)

Pay – Weekly and negotiable

Start: ASAP

Full time role, Hours: 8.30-3.30 Monday to Friday

The School, that is part of a wider academy trust is seeking to appoint Graduate Tutors to support their ambitious, yet carefully thought out catch up programme with the purpose of closing the gaps in knowledge and attainment as a direct result of schools closures throughout the summer term. The school, which is based in Littlehampton has created a nurturing environment in response to the impact of COVID-19 for students who have been identified to require additional support to flourish both academically and emotionally.

As a graduate tutor, you will work on a 1:1 and small group basis to deliver areas of the curriculum including Maths, English, Science & Humanities at KS2-KS4 (Primary and Secondary) where students present the greatest need for improvement. You will be fully supported by a well respected programme lead and given training on ‘how to be an effective tutor’ in order for you to fulfil your role however it would be desirable that:

  • You are an empathetic graduate, with a degree of resilience and patience
  • Have some experience working with children aged between 10-16
  • Have a degree 2.2 or above
  • Have a genuine interest in education and are someone keen to explore teacher training in the future
  • Are passionate about your professional development
  • Have exceptional communication skills that can be adapted to suit a range of learning styles
  • Are genuinely interested in supporting the development and learning outcomes of young people
