Exciting Opportunity for Psychology Graduates: SEMH Behavior Support Role in a PRU Provision!
Are you a recent psychology graduate with a passion for making a difference in the lives of students facing Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges? Look no further! An exceptional opportunity awaits you to join our team as a SEMH Behavior Support Specialist within our Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) provision in Salford.
We are currently seeking dedicated Psychology Graduates to play a crucial role in providing tailored support to students with SEMH needs in our PRU setting, supporting students disengaged from mainstram education. As a SEMH Behavior Support Specialist, you will work closely with our experienced staff to create a nurturing and supportive environment where every student can thrive and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to students with SEMH needs, both individually and in group settings, within our PRU provision.
- Implement behavior management strategies and interventions to support students in developing positive coping mechanisms and emotional regulation skills.
- Collaborate with teaching staff, therapists, and external agencies to develop and implement personalised support plans for students with SEMH needs.
- Facilitate social skills groups and therapeutic interventions to promote positive peer relationships and emotional well-being.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, adjusting support strategies as necessary to ensure positive outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Psychology or related field desirable.
- Strong understanding of SEMH issues and their impact on learning and behavior.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with students and colleagues.
- Flexibility, resilience, and a proactive approach to supporting the diverse needs of students with SEMH challenges.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn and implement new approaches and strategies.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
