Geography teacher
Job description
Due to an open vacancy within their Humanities department, this Manchester based secondary school wish to appoint a Geography teacher from April 2020.
Dependant on your circumstances, the school are able to accommodate an earlier start date due to the nature of this gap (As early as January 2020).
- Full time Geography teacher post – April start or earlier
- Ofsted graded good secondary school located on the outskirts of Manchester city centre
- Open vacancy with permanent opportunity
- Leading a timetable consisting of both KS3 and GCSE Geography
- Pay in line with MPS/UPS dependant on experience (GBP24,373 - GBP40,490)
Applicants must hold UK QTS and a PGCE/Equivalent specialising in Geography. The ideal Geography teacher will be confident building strong rapport with pupils and hold the ability to consistently provide ‘Good’ and ‘Outstanding’ practice. Staff within this school hold a shared vision based on providing every pupil with the highest standard of teaching and learning to ensure they achieve above and beyond their expected grades. Those passionate about raising pupil attainment and with proven records will fit perfectly into this position.
The successful Geography teacher will be required to take on full responsibility of a timetable made up of both KS3 and GCSE Geography classes ranging in ability. You will be required to plan and delivering engaging lessons, whereby you will have full access to excellent facilities and resources within this modern school.
Located on the outskirts of Manchester city centre, the school is easily accessible via public transport and for those with their own transport. The school was recently graded ‘Good’ within its most recent Ofsted report, with leadership and management being commended for their progress in taking the school forward in recent years.
The school welcome applications from both newly qualified and experienced teachers. As mentioned, an earlier start date is available immediately in the New Year (January), however the school wish to appoint on a fixed/permanent basis from April 2020.
