General Supply Teacher

Date posted : 18/02/19
£95 - £120 per day

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Teaching Personnel are working with a number of the secondary schools in the Central Manchester area and are therefore looking for general supply teachers to register for day to day short term teaching work following the February half term. Working closely with in excess of 10 secondary schools in the central Manchester area as well as building relationships with further schools in Chorlton, Stretford, Trafford and Stockport we have found the day to day work grow significantly in demand. Schools are finding themselves inundated with the need for general day to day supply teachers.

As a general supply teacher working through Teaching Personnel, you will benefit from regular day to day work in the areas of Central Manchester including Longsight, Ardwick, East Manchester, Droylsden, Rusholme as well as those area mentioned above. Whilst fulfilling the general supply teaching role, planning and marking is not expected.

Highlights of the general supply teaching position:

  • Pay range between £95 - £120 per day depending on school, LEA and experience/specialism
  • Teach in a variety of secondary schools in the Central Manchester area
  • Consistent teaching where schools often ask for the same teachers back providing continuity and consistency
  • Regular CPD opportunities with Teaching Personnel and access to an online diary and system providing full flexibility

As a general supply teacher, you will have full flexibility over being available on a full time or part time basis. This role is ideal for qualified teachers of any experience looking for as much work as that which suits the individual's personal schedule. This role is also ideal for teachers looking for an introduction to a longer term, more permanent position as we find general supply teaching can lead to a medium term placement if applicable for the teacher. As planning and marking is not usually a part of the general supply teaching role; the expectation is to arrive at school at approximately 8:30am (school timing dependent) and finish at 3pm with no additional responsibility.

The majority of secondary schools we work with in this area will call us on a reactive basis in the morning requesting a number of teachers. We are therefore looking for those general supply teachers who are available on a daily basis for any cover on given days. If you are available on a part time basis, temporarily or each day for full time work; apply now for a call back to discuss the role further.

If you are a qualified teacher looking for general supply teaching work in the Central Manchester area then apply now for an immediate call back to register. Please apply advising on your preference and current situation and updated CV if possible. For any further information please contact Shiv at Teaching Personnel.
