Are you looking for a role within a mainstream secondary school, working with students that require additional assistance and support?

Do you have experience working with students and pupils aged 11 - 16 years old?

A mixed secondary school in the Chorlton area of Manchester is looking to recruit a general SEN TA who is able to start with them in September. The successful SEN TA will be supporting the small and supportive SEN department and SENCo (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) working with specific students on a 1 to 1 basis and in small groups. Whilst this is a mainstream secondary school, all students are included in activities with relevant provision made for students with additional special needs such as those with Autism, Hearing Impairment and ADHD.

The successful TA will ideally have had exposure to these needs or have experience interacting with students exhibiting these behaviour. The role of the general SEN TA will include assisting these students with social and emotional issues they may have as well as with academic work.

Highlights of this general SEN TA:

  • Pay ranging between £55 - £65 per day depending on relevant experience
  • Full time TA position starting September 2018
  • Temporary position in the first instance for half term - full term, with the view to continuing longer term
  • Gain support and further experience working with the school SENCo

The school has an expectation of putting all students, regardless of gender, race or various special educational needs first and foremost ensuring that all can access the curriculum and get the most out of school life. They are therefore looking for a general SEN TA that can facilitate this learning and allow all students to progress within their school career.

The school is situated in the Chorlton area of South Manchester, making it easily accessible for those in the surrounding areas as well as those further afield via the local tram line. The school has ample parking for those travelling by car.

For those already fulfilling the role of a TA at a secondary school or perhaps a Youth Worker supporting young adults, apply now with your latest CV for immediate consideration. For those without specific SEN experience, still apply now for consideration on how your transferable skills could benefit this teaching assistant position.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
