We are currently seeking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced Science teacher for one of our Alternative Provision units in Liverpool. Our client occupies premises of a previous primary school and has ample space and resources inside and out. The unit admits students from all areas of the city and some travel independently for over an hour on public transport to attend. The unit provides short-term full-time education for boys and girls who are at risk of exclusion or who have been excluded from their mainstream schools. Almost all are Key Stage 3 students. Most stay for a period of around three months and then either return to mainstream schools or move on to special schools following the unit’s assessments of their needs. All students are considered to have special educational needs during their stay but rarely do any have a statement of special educational need.
To be considered for this Science teaching role you will need to be/have:
• QTS or NQT status with a specialism in Science
• Experience teaching Science in both KS3/4 (student ability is KS2/3)
• A passion for Science and the desire to improve results
• Experience of working with pupils with very challenging behaviour
To apply for this excellent teaching opportunity, please email your CV/cover note to michelle.moran@teachingpersonnel.com or call the office on 0151 244 5430 for further details.
