Future Teachers Programme
Doncaster

Are you a graduate considering a career in teaching? Would you like paid work experience in a local secondary school to help you decide if teaching is the career for you?

Teaching Personnel are seeking to enrol a number of recent Graduates on to our Future Teachers Programme for the academic year 19/20.

We work closely with school in Central, South, North and West Doncaster and therefore graduates from all areas are encouraged to apply.

What is the Future Teachers Programme?

The Future Teachers Programme is a 1 year course designed to support graduates who are considering a career in teaching but wish to gain paid work experience prior to enrolling in formal teacher training. Graduates will receive between £1100 - £1200 per month.

How does it work?

Each Future Teacher placement will run for up to one academic year to help graduates to gain a broad experience of life in school. Teaching Personnel offers ongoing support alongside a teacher mentor assigned to each graduate throughout the programme.

Throughout the placement, graduates will work as a subject specialist Teaching Assistant supporting in a number of tasks and activities including:

  • Offering in class subject specialist support
  • Supporting students with Special Educational Needs
  • Running small group and one-to-one interventions to raise student attainment
  • Assisting in the planning and preparation of lessons
  • Supervising lessons in the short term absence of teachers

How do I apply?

To apply for the Future Teachers Programme, all applicants must hold a degree in one of the following subject areas: Maths, English, Science, Humanities or Languages.

The course will run throughout the academic year 19/20 with the first placement commencing in September 2019. To enrol on the course, applicants must be available Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 3pm on and ongoing basis.
