Job description

This welcoming, inclusive secondary school in Oldham is offering graduate opportunities for Cover Supervisors starting September 2025. The role is ideal for anyone considering teaching, educational psychology, or a career working with young people.

The school has a diverse student community and a warm, supportive ethos. You’ll be working alongside experienced teachers, behaviour mentors, and pastoral staff, all committed to making education meaningful and inclusive.

No prior school experience? No problem. Full training and mentoring are provided, and you'll never be left without support. What matters is your enthusiasm, professionalism, and ability to build rapport with students.

The Role Involves:

  • Supervising pre-planned lessons in the absence of the regular teacher

  • Feeding back to departments on lesson outcomes

  • Supporting wider school life, including duties and events


Ideal Candidate:

  • Recent graduate with strong people skills

  • Comfortable leading a classroom with confidence

  • Open-minded, empathetic, and calm under pressure

  • Interested in a future working with young people or in education

This is a full-time, term-time position, with potential for long-term roles and future training routes for the right candidate.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
