EYFS Teaching Assistant
Job description
Salary: £90–£105 per day

The Role
-
Support the class teacher in delivering fun, developmentally appropriate activities aligned with the EYFS curriculum.

Help foster children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development in a safe, nurturing setting.

Prepare resources, supervise play, and provide individual or small-group support during daily routines.
-
Encourage communication, early literacy, numeracy, and motor skills through creative and engaging approaches.
-
Monitor wellbeing and promptly raise any safeguarding concerns.
-
Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and professionals to support children’s progress.
-
Maintain a patient and positive approach, adapting to meet the diverse needs of young learners.
The Ideal Candidate
-
A compassionate and enthusiastic individual passionate about supporting young children’s development.
-
Previous experience in an Early Years setting or similar role is highly desirable.
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
-
Patient, adaptable, and creative, with a genuine love of working with EYFS pupils.
-
Able to work well in a team while also showing initiative in the classroom.
-
A good understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to children’s wellbeing.
-
Relevant childcare or TA qualifications (Level 2/3) are an advantage but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
