Early Years Specialist Teacher required for a Maternity Cover in Kensington & Chelsea

  • Two term fixed contract for a Maternity cover
  • Opportunity for schedules to be moved around for you to secure a permanent role at the end of your contract

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher to join a happy, popular and thriving three-form entry primary school with over 650 children, serving a diverse community in West Central London.

Your main duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Deliver the curriculum as relevant to the age and ability group/subject/s that you teach

- Be responsible for the preparation and development of teaching materials, teaching programmes and pastoral arrangements as appropriate

- Be accountable for the attainment, progress and outcomes of pupils’ you teach

- Be aware of pupils’ capabilities, their prior knowledge and plan teaching accordingly

- Have a clear understanding of the needs of all pupils, including those with special educational needs; gifted and talented; EAL; disabilities; and be able to use and evaluate distinctive teaching approaches to engage and support them

Our ideal candidate will have

Qualified teacher status

Teaching experience in the Primary and/or the Foundation stage

Ability to develop and maintain good personal relationships with pupils, staff, parents/carers, Governors and the wider community and other professionals

Ability to deploy ICT effectively to promote learning and achievement

Thorough understanding of how children learn

An understanding of managing planning, assessment and record keeping, and how these affect optimal pupil progress
