Chemistry Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Chemistry Teacher to join secondary schools across Hastings and the surrounding areas of East Sussex. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher who is passionate about Chemistry and committed to inspiring students while delivering high-quality science education.

This role is suitable for experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and are looking for long-term, permanent, or flexible teaching opportunities.

The Role:

• Teaching Chemistry across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially KS5 in some schools)

• Planning and delivering engaging, practical, and theory-based lessons in line with the national curriculum

• Assessing, monitoring, and tracking student progress

• Supporting students of varying abilities to achieve their full potential

• Creating a safe, inclusive, and well-managed laboratory and classroom environment

• Collaborating with the wider Science department and school staff

Essential Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

• A recognised degree in Chemistry or a related science subject

• Strong subject knowledge of the secondary Chemistry curriculum

• Confidence delivering practical science lessons and maintaining health and safety standards

• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills

• A professional, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach to teaching

• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
