Job description

A secondary school in Hastings is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Biology to join their successful Science department. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students and contribute to high-quality teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 for the right candidate.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver engaging and effective Biology lessons that support excellent student progress.

  • Plan, prepare and assess work in line with departmental and national expectations.

  • Contribute to the development of the Science curriculum.

  • Support students of varying abilities to reach their full potential.

  • Work collaboratively within a supportive and well-resourced Science department.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • Has experience teaching Biology in a secondary school setting.

  • Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a passion for science education.

  • Has high expectations for student achievement and behaviour.

  • Is committed to inclusive education and supporting all learners.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
