Job description

A secondary school in Hastings is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Physical Education (PE) to join our dedicated and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students to develop a lifelong interest in sport, fitness, and healthy lifestyles.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

  • Promote participation, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles through sport and physical activity.

  • Plan, prepare and assess work in line with departmental and national expectations.

  • Contribute to the school’s extracurricular sports programme, including clubs, fixtures, and events.

  • Support students of all abilities to participate and achieve in physical education.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • Has experience teaching Physical Education in a secondary school setting.

  • Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a passion for sport and physical activity.

  • Has high expectations for student achievement, behaviour, and participation.

  • Is committed to inclusive education and encouraging all students to engage in physical activity.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
