Job description

English Tutor – Ashton-in-Makerfield (WN4)

At TP Tutors, we’re looking for skilled and enthusiastic English Tutors to support pupils in Ashton-in-Makerfield (WN4) who need tailored, 1:1 learning outside of mainstream education.

Many of our learners require extra help with literacy skills, GCSE preparation, or confidence building due to missed education, SEND, or barriers to learning. Your role will be to deliver engaging, personalised sessions that help pupils make progress and re-engage with English at a level and pace that works for them.

Sessions are face-to-face, either at the learner’s home or in a local community setting such as a library.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong subject knowledge in English (KS2–GCSE)

  • Experience teaching, tutoring, or supporting young people

  • A patient, adaptable, and encouraging approach

  • An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
