Job description

ESOL Tutor – Oldham (OL8 / OL9)

We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic ESOL Tutors to support learners in Oldham (OL8 / OL9) who are developing their English language skills. This is a rewarding opportunity to help individuals improve their speaking, listening, reading, and writing, enabling them to access education, employment, and everyday life with confidence.

You will deliver 1:1 or small group sessions, tailoring lessons to learners’ individual needs, abilities, and goals. Many learners may be new arrivals or those who need additional support to progress towards accredited qualifications.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging ESOL lessons across all four language skills

  • Adapt resources to meet diverse learning needs and cultural backgrounds

  • Support learners to build confidence in communication

  • Track progress and provide constructive feedback

We are looking for tutors who have:

  • ESOL teaching experience (TESOL, CELTA, or similar desirable)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • A flexible and supportive approach to learners

  • An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
