English Teaching Assistant- Wigan

Teaching Personnel are actively seeking English graduates to work as Teaching Assistants specifically within the English department of our high performing partner school located close to the town centre;

Overview;

• To provide intervention support to pupils with their English studies on a 1-to-1 basis and with small groups.
• You will be required to work with all year groups, but there will be a specific focus on providing exam preparation to Year 11 students in the run up to the GCSE period. This will involve using your degree knowledge to tutor the pupils through 'past exam paper's and help them to develop their revision techniques.
• You must be able to display resilience and overcome any disengagement through effective delivery of the work.
• On occasion, there will be the opportunity to lead full classes in the absence of the English teachers.

The school were recently commended for the outcomes it achieves for all of their pupils which means that you will be joining a close knit and supportive team. There is a very positive atmosphere throughout the school which has fostered a high level of respect from the pupils to the staff.

It is located centrally which offers excellent accessibility to the surrounding areas of Standish, Shevington, Orrell and is a short drive away from Ashton-in-Makerfield and St Helens. It also has excellent public transport links direct from the town centre.
