English Teacher - Rochdale

Are you a qualified English teacher looking to work in an Ofsted graded 'Outstanding' academy in Rochdale?

Teaching Personnel are the market leaders of recruitment in the education sector, and are currently working alongside one of our partner schools in Rochdale who are currently seeking an inspirational English teacher to start after Easter 2019. This is a highly exciting opportunity for the ideal candidate to take the next step in their teaching career, and has arisen due to an internal promotion within the school.

  • Full time Teacher of English post from Easter 2019
  • Until at least the end of the academic year in the first instance
  • Opportunity for a more progressive role leading into September
  • Pay in line with MPS and UPS (£23,720-£39,406)
  • Teaching English up to GCSE level

Our partner school is located in the Milnrow area of Rochdale, a short drive from the M62 motorway and with good public transport links including a tram line. With an 'above average' Progress 8 score of 0.39, it is clear that the 1200+ students enrolled at this 11-16 academy make clear and good progress. In their most recent Ofsted inspection, this mixed comprehensive school was graded as 'Outstanding' with inspectors commenting on "the impact of teaching on pupils' progress" and "the high standards of pupils' behaviour".

"Our aim is to ensure that all school processes and actions result in all pupils having access to an outstanding experience of education while making 'World Class' progress, regardless of ability, gender, social background or ethnic origin. Fundamentally, the notion of equity in education is concerned with reducing and ultimately eliminating underachievement and the removal of the barriers to each pupils' learning and success." Headteacher.

Prospective candidates should ideally have experience teaching KS3 English, as well as KS4 English Language and English Literature. The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons will be advantageous to applicants, as well as experience of inspiring students from a range of different backgrounds and who may have different needs. Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) are encouraged to apply for this role at an 'Outstanding' academy in Rochdale.

If you would like to apply for this post as an English teacher, please apply via the link below or send an updated CV to Chris Beckenham at Manchester North Secondary directly, alternatively call on the number provided for further information.
