English Teacher - Required to start from Easter or sooner

  • Full-time English Teaching role
  • Easter start date or sooner for the incoming applicant
  • Fixed term position for the remainder of the academic year
  • Opportunity to earn a permanent contract direct with the school from September 2019

Our client secondary school that is based in Wigan are currently in need of an English Teacher who is available to work following the Easter half-term or sooner if possible.

The school have an open gap within their English faculty due to a member of staff who is set to relocate and will be leaving on the lead up to the Easter holidays. With this in mind the school wish to appoint a passionate English teacher who is able to hit the ground running immediately.

The successful applicant will be responsible for complete planning and marking responsibilities and will have a time table that is inclusive of GCSE classes. It is crucial that the incoming teacher is someone who can contribute to the recent improvements of the school and is able to ensure that their students have the opportunity to achieve above their original expectations.

There will be regular reviews for the successful applicant and permanent employment from September will be subject to performance over the initial temporary period.

The school, located in central Wigan can be found just a few miles from the town centre, making it commutable via public transport and is easily accessible via A577/A49. They have recently converted to an academy and are making excellent progress in raising standards across the board. This is an average sized Secondary School with around 1050 children aged 11-16 on roll, the number who speak English as an additional language is slightly lower than the national average. Results are improving in the core subjects and pupils make good progress.
