English Teacher – Rochdale

Are you an English Teacher looking for your next role? Would you like to work at an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Rochdale?

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a client school in Rochdale who are seeking to appoint an inspirational English Teacher from January 2020 or sooner if possible. This exciting opportunity to join a ‘Good’ secondary school with an excellent reputation in the local community has arisen due to a restructuring of the English department. As an introduction to a permanent post, the successful candidate will start of on a fixed term contract until the end of the academic year, with an opportunity of a permanent contract thereafter.

  • Full time Teacher of English required from January 2020 or sooner if possible
  • Temporary contract until July in the first instance
  • Opportunity of a permanent contract
  • ‘Good’ secondary school in Rochdale
  • Teaching both English Language and English Literature up to GCSE level
  • Pay in line with MPS and UPS (GBP24,373 - GBP40,490)

Our client school which is located in the Whitworth area of Rochdale is a small mixed comprehensive school with fewer than 700 students currently in attendance. With a positive Progress 8 score, the school ensure that their students perform consistently to high standards and that they make good progress.

As an English teacher at our client school, prospective candidates should hold QTS in the UK alongside other relevant qualifications. The successful candidate will be expected to teach up to KS4 level, so experience teaching GCSE English is desirable, especially through the AQA examination board. The English department encourage collaborative planning, so the ability to plan and deliver highly engaging lessons to inspire and motivate the students in attendance at the school would be most valuable.
