Early Years Teaching Assistant

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant working with us, you can expect a competitive salary (negotiable dependant on level of qualification and experience within Early Years), excellent training and development as well as your own personnel dedicated consultant, available 24 hour's a day.

Early Years Teaching Assistants are specialists in early childhood development and will have Early Years Specialist Status or Early Years Professional Status. They will have experience in working with children from birth to five years old as well as a strong knowledge of the Early Years Statutory Framework. The desired early years lead will be accountable for achieving the highest possible standards in their professional practice.

Purpose of Post

  • To undertake overall responsibility for raising the quality of Early Years provision.
  • To lead practice across the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • To support and mentor other practitioners in the skills and behaviours that safeguard and promote good outcomes for children
  • Follow the Early Years Statutory Framework

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
  • Ensure that all practitioners understand the principles and content of the Early Years Foundation Stage as well as British Values and know how to put them in to practice.
  • Support other practitioners in acknowledging the various influences and transitions experienced by a child from both inside and outside the setting.
  • Practice and promote current legal requirements, national policies and guidance on health and safety, safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children

  • Engage in continuous updating of own skills and knowledge.
  • Model good practice and engage in self-reflection
  • Organised, self-disciplined, reliable, conscientious and honest
  • Inspiring and influential
  • Be able to be sensitive to colleague's readiness for change
  • The ability to negotiate with others to influence change

Teaching Personnel are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
