Are you an ECT looking for a position in education? As an ECT did you know you can work as a Supply Teacher in your local area? We work with successful secondary schools and colleges across Sunderland, South Shields, Washington, and County Durham seeking additional staff on an ad-hoc basis.
Working as a supply teacher opens endless possibilities of opportunity. It gives you the opportunity to demonstrate your worth as a teacher, without having to go through interview processes and is a rightly respected and essential part of the smooth running of the education system. Getting a foot in the door with supply work is also a great way to secure a long-term or permanent role!
Teaching Personnel is able to offer you a flexible approach to your career that offers variety and challenge. We also continue to support your development through our specially designed CPD academy. You will have access to 6 free resource packs; pedagogy and practice, curriculum, assessment, behaviour, SEN and professional behaviours.
What options do I have as a supply teacher?
- Opportunity for ad-hoc daily supply work in a range of different schools
- Opportunity to secure both temporary contracts and permanent roles
- Support schools with 1:1 and small group tuition to help raise attainment and support children with SEN
Can I complete my induction year working as a Supply Teacher?
Yes. Providing you complete up to a term in a temporary contract, this can count towards your ECT induction sign off. You can complete your ECT 2 years in different schools which isn't a bad route to take. It shows any future employers that you are adaptable and will have gained valuable experience.
Is there opportunity for me to secure a permanent role through Teaching Personnel?
Yes. We provide our schools with a permanent recruitment service in addition to supply. You will hear of the latest opportunities and if permanent is what you are looking for, we will actively work on your behalf using our network of school contacts to discuss your skills and experience and secure you interviews. We will even help prepare you for any interviews with access to our bespoke interview and trial preparation guide.
How much will I be paid?
- As an ECT working as an ad-hoc supply teacher, you can expect to earn between £110-£115 per day. In this scenario, you are not required to prepare lessons, simply arrive at the school by 8.15am, cover lessons as directed by the Cover Manager and then you are free to leave at the end of the day.
- As an ECT working in a temporary contract, you can expect to earn up to £145 per day. In this scenario, you should expect full ECT responsibility; planning, preparing, assessing, and contributing to the wider school community.
We have helped countless ECTs to ensure that they have access to work opportunities and help them to achieve their career goals.
Please submit your application today using the link provided and a dedicated consultant will be in touch. If you would like more information, please contact the Tyne Tees Secondary Branch. We look forward to hearing from you.
