Teaching Personnel are working on behalf of an independent school seeking a part time teacher of EAL. The role will be based within the senior school (age 11-18), teaching IELTS from September 2019. This position would be suitable for someone who is an experienced practitioner. The candidate must also be able to offer a second subject, either Spanish or Learning Support.

The school, based in the South of Hampshire, are looking to appoint for a part time role. Ideally you will be available to begin in September, however the school are willing to consider a later start date for the right applicant.

Many students attend this school for the unrivalled opportunity to learn English as an additional language. As an independent school, they are in the position to offer specialist EAL support to all pupils who require it to ensure that all students can take part in programs of study in English, with their peer group. EAL can lead to a first language GCSE qualification or to IELT's qualifications, both of which are recognised as entry level requirements for university in the United Kingdom, as well as in English language courses around the world.

Subject/role specific requirements:

• Relevant 2:1 degree
• Qualified Teacher status or overseas equivalent
• Enthusiasm for and developing expertise in teaching EAL
• Professional enthusiasm, direction and vision regarding the role of EAL in education
• Enthusiasm for co-curricular activities
• Recognised TEFL Qualification e.g. CELTA, Cert TESOL, DELTA
• Good working knowledge of the requirements of the IELTS examination
