Job description

The School, based in the Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells area of Kent, are looking to appoint a motivated, driven and inspiring Cover Supervisor to join them for the new academic year from September 2019.
The role of a Cover Supervisor is a challenging yet rewarding one. You would be responsible for supervising whole classes in the absence of their usual Teacher. To be effective in the role, you will need to be able to demonstrate effective behaviour management techniques, be resilient and be able to foster positive working relationships with students and staff alike. As a Cover Supervisor you will cover high-quality, rigorous lessons that help support achievement, and inspire a love of learning that extends beyond the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate, distribute and supervise work that has been set. Report back to the teacher as appropriate using the schools agreed referral procedures on the behaviour of pupils during the class, and any issues arising.
- Promote the inclusion of all pupils within the classroom, being aware of and supporting difference, to ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
- Set high expectations so that all students are inspired, motivated and challenged to reach their full potential. Manage behaviour effectively to create a safe, respectful and nurturing environment so that students can focus on learning.
By joining the school, you will work alongside the schools team of teachers and senior leaders raising expectations, aspirations and attainment of the whole school and act as a role model for their young people, preparing them for life beyond the school gate.
The school will invest in your professional development in the following ways:
- Invite you to attend training courses free of charge to ensure constant professional development
- For the right candidate, the school may be able to support you achieving QTS if you are a graduate of a curriculum subject
- The school offers a well-being programme of which you will have access to ensuring you are protected from what can be at times a challenging profession
- Recognising your effort and enthusiasm through a rewards scheme
If you are a Graduate with experience of working with young people, an already experienced Cover Supervisor or LSA looking to progress in your career then please apply ASAP. Applications will be assessed as they are received and interviewed arranged thereafter. Early applications are encouraged.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
