Cover Supervisor
A vibrant and thriving secondary school in Dewsbury are seeking to appoint a flexible and confident Cover Supervisor from the February Half Term.
A Cover Supervisor will be available to cover lessons for teaching staff in their short term absence. As such, this is a supervision role and not a teaching role. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates considering a career in secondary teaching or for those who enjoy working with young people.
Cover Supervisor Duties include:
- Covering a teachers timetable for the day, supervising lessons in their absence
- Taking a register at the beginning of each lesson
- Handing out pre planned work to pupils and ensuring they remain on task with this
- Managing pupil behaviour effectively and be a good representative of the school
- Working in accordance with school policies which you will be briefed on
- Collecting completed work at the end of each lesson
- Reporting back to the cover manager at the end of the day
This particular secondary school are extremely supportive of incoming support staff and the successful Cover Supervisor will receive a full induction. The school’s most recent Ofsted report was graded as ‘Good’
Key Aspects of the Cover Supervisor post:
- Cover Supervisor - flexible work on a rolling contract (the school will call upon you first for cover needs) - Starting in February through to July
- Paid up to GBP300 a week!
- Typical working hours are term time Monday to Friday 9am-3pm

Applicant requirements:
- Be flexible and available for Cover Supervision
- Be confident with class and behaviour management
- To be considering a career in teaching or have previous experience working with young people
