Qualified Science Teacher- 1 Year Maternity cover

  • Maternity cover from October 2016
  • 'Good' Secondary School in Kirklees
  • Daily pay of between £120-£187 (depending on experience and skills)

Are you a qualified Science teacher, looking for a temporary and flexible role in a supportive School? We have the job for you!

A Secondary school most recently graded 'Good' by Ofsted in the Kirklees area of West Yorkshire are looking for an excellent teacher of Science to a cover a maternity leave. The role would start in October 2016 and would be for at least the rest of the academic year.

The school is medium sized with a mixed cohort, achieves average to good results and boasts a friendly, welcoming and supportive staff team. The Science department have a mix of experienced teachers and those who have only recently qualified, which has resulted in a thriving and forward-thinking department which you would have the opportunity to become an active member of.

You will be teaching General Science across KS3 with a focus on Chemistry and GCSE so must have some recent experience of teaching Chemistry at GCSE level.

The school are keen to secure an excellent Science teacher with superb subject knowledge, good classroom management skills and the ability to create engaging lessons. As the role would be on a temporary basis, the school have said they are flexible and able to honour any pre-booked holidays etc during term time, as well as the occasional day off if advance notice is given.

You must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK and have recent experience within UK Secondary Schools.
