Catholic Primary School- Day to day Supply Staff
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
A school in the Blackburn area have just started a new working relationship with Teaching Personnel; they are working directly with the agency in Lancashire as they are currently working under the Salford Diocese. With this, the school receive a number of benefits and will use a good amount of supply on a regular basis through the Primary Team. The majority of the work we have received already this half term has been pre-booked. This means the school are able to give enough warning to ensure the supply teachers are able to plan effectively and deliver good quality lesson content. There are also opportunities to pick up extra days on the morning when the school are unable to cover their staff internally. All in all, the school have been happy with the quality of the supply staff through Teaching Personnel and with this they are keen to book further dates into the rest of the year.
The school is situated 1 mile from the centre of Blackburn which makes it particularly good for commuting as the M65 is in touching distance. The Head teacher is relatively new to the role and has taken it upon herself to improve teaching and learning standards as well as behaviour across school. The Head teacher has also noted that all staff arriving in school will need to provide ID and an up to date child workforce DBS. You will then be supported throughout the working day and shown round the school to make sure you are comfortable in the learning environment.
The children who arrive in school tend to arrive from socially deprived backgrounds and so the behaviour across school can be quite challenging. The school are consistently implementing a good behaviour policy and the children respond well to the routine of this.
If you are looking for supply work, medium term or long term work then there will definitely be positions arising in the near future in school. Please contact the office if you hold QTS, have recent experiences and are keen to work on a temporary basis in an improving school.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
