Catch up Tutor

Job description

A client secondary school in Preston, Lancashire are seeking a Catch up Tutor to support targeted students on a 1:1 and small group basis with Literacy and Maths. The incoming Tutor will work closely with Head of Faculties for delivering and planning catch up sessions.

The school are ideally looking for someone with primary school based experience, either a HLTA or Teacher, due to fact they will be supporting low ability KS3 students. Rate of pay will be dependant on experience and start from GBP10 p/h. The working hours are 08:30am - 16:30pm and the role is Mondays and Tuesdays with a potential third day to be confirmed.

The role is to start from ASAP and will run for, most likely, 2 terms initially.

Job purpose:
-    To close the gap for pupils targeted as not yet achieving expected progress in literacy and numeracy. 
-    To deliver small group literacy and numeracy intervention to identified pupils and to assess and track the progress of these pupils.
-    To liaise with the AAHT and SENDCO to ensure a co-ordinated approach to small-group interventions for identified pupils.
