Caretaker – Wigan
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Caretaker to join a primary school in the Wigan area, supporting the day-to-day maintenance, security and smooth running of the school site.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the school premises are safe, clean and well maintained, carrying out general maintenance tasks and responding to any issues that arise across the site. This could include basic repairs, moving furniture and equipment, checking facilities, setting up rooms and supporting the school with opening and closing procedures.
The role would suit someone who is practical, reliable and confident working independently. Previous experience in a caretaker, facilities, maintenance or site-based role would be beneficial, although candidates with relevant practical experience will also be considered.
The role:
- Caretaker position within a Wigan primary school
- Supporting the general upkeep and maintenance of the school site
- Carrying out basic repairs and maintenance tasks
- Setting up and moving furniture and equipment when required
- Supporting with site security and opening/closing duties
- Ensuring the school environment remains safe and presentable
- Working closely with school staff to respond to site requirements
The school is looking for someone dependable, hands-on and able to take pride in maintaining a safe and well-presented environment for pupils and staff.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
