SEND Teaching Assistant – Small Group Intervention Support (Wigan)

A Wigan primary school is looking for a Teaching Assistant to work with small groups of pupils with autism and ADHD. This role will focus on supporting targeted interventions, reinforcing classroom learning, and helping pupils develop key skills such as communication, focus, and independence.

You will work closely with the class teacher to deliver structured activities, monitor progress, and provide feedback on pupil development. Supporting pupils to follow routines and remain engaged in tasks will be a key aspect of the role.

The role is due to start in October 2026 and will run on a full-time basis, with the potential for a longer-term placement.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience supporting SEND pupils and a flexible, hands-on approach. Strong teamwork and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff are essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
