Do you have experience as a Camp Counsellor?

Have you recently returned from Camp and are looking for your next opportunity?

Are you passionate about supporting young people?

If so, I have the perfect role for you!

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking experienced Counsellors and Activity Leaders to work as Teaching Assistants in various schools across Lancashire. Having been a Camp Counsellor myself, I understand the impact it has on your life and the fond memories you take away with you. With that in mind, if you are truly passionate about working with young people and are considering your next steps, why not consider a role as a Teaching Assistant, working specifically with young people with SEN.

As a Counsellor we understand that you will have spent most of your time taking care of a specific group of campers on a daily basis, taking them to different activities throughout the day, sitting with them at meal times, entertaining them and making sure they are always safe. As an SEN Teaching Assistant your role would be very similar, with activities focussing around Educational-based subjects but still with that same enthusiasm you would have had at camp.

Counsellors also generally have a particular skill that they teach at Camp, which most of our schools are very interested in. This could provide you with the opportunity to lead small groups or assist with after-school / lunchtime clubs or activities.

Ultimately we are looking for people with energy, enthusiasm and a passion for working with young people. The working hours will be 8:30am-3:30pm and will be 5 days per week, on a supply basis initially, with a view to finding you a long-term / permanent role. However, if you're looking for something to get you through the academic year, before returning to camp each Summer, that's fine too (we totally get it) and we'd be happy to keep you busy during term time.

We have opportunities available immediately and from September so please contact me ASAP if you are interested.
