Ofsted Good School in the Milton Keynes area seeking Qualified Biology Specialists for the new academic year.

Fixed Term - 1 year

Pay Range: GBP130.00 to GBP190.00 per day

Teaching Personnel are exclusively working with an Ofsted Good school who are seeking a Qualified Science Teacher with a Biology Specialism to join there highly successful school for a fixed term 1 year contract. This position is to start in September through to the end of the academic year. This is an excellent opportunity where a Teacher can join a well-established team of professionals who are dedicated to supporting their students and staff. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching Biology A Level and have experience of improving performance across their cohort in a previous role. 

Biology is one of the most popular subject choices and departments across GCSE & A Level. The schools can off you a state of the art facility and laboratorys' for both pupil learning and PPA time. Alongside this, strong communication skills, with excellent organisational and time management skills would create the ideal candidate we are looking for to teach Double and Triple Science at KS3, KS4 and KS5 level.

The Biology Department is housed within a state of the art facility which provide a modern and bright environment, including SMART Boards, prep room, greenhouse and additional facilities. The role will involve teaching years 9-11 iGCSE Biology and AQA A level course. There is a close working relationship between all three of the Sciences and Dual Award is offered alongside three separate Sciences at GCSE following the Edexcel iGCSE specification.

Key Responsibilities;

  • To promote the aims of the School at all times with colleagues, parents, pupils and the public
  • To assist in the recruitment of pupils and to promote the School and Department.
  • To play an active role in the strategic development of the department and faculty.
  • To provide professional high quality teaching, with the effective use of appropriate resources and the highest standards of learning and achievement of all pupils.
  • To attend all appropriate Health & Safety (COSHH) and Child Protection training issues related to the pupils, School and Department.
