Teaching Personnel is working with a school that is seeking to appoint a Behaviour Support Worker with experience of working with pupils who can display challenging behaviours within a mainstream setting. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a highly successful school with a supportive staff team ethos.
The post will involve working on a three to one basis to support 3 boys in year 6 and assist them with SATs preparation. It provides an opportunity for the successful candidate to use established skills and expertise to help these young boys to access learning opportunities within a mainstream setting and to help the pupils to gain confidence in themselves as learners.

Responsibilities:
- To work 3:1 with students who demonstrate challenging behaviour within a mainstream setting
- To facilitate a safe and positive learning environment and de-escalate any threatening or aggressive behaviour
- To mentor and engage with the pupils, delivering a personalised educational package
- To work alongside and under the direction of the class teacher
Requirements:
- To be calm and consistent under pressure and display resilience
- Be patient, engaging, creative and have a sense of humour
- Have adequate training and professional experience in supporting children with additional behaviour and emotional needs.
- The ability to maintain accurate paper work
- To be computer literate
- Preferably have training such as 'Team Teach' or equivalent de-escalation and restraint training.
