Behaviour Teaching Assistant

Behaviour Mentor Required

A ‘Good’ secondary school south of Derby city are looking to recruit effective behaviour mentors to support students transitioning back in to mainstream education having had periods of exclusion.

The role offers a varied and ever changing environment in which members of staff work flexibly to support vulnerable students with emotional, social and mental health difficulties. The role is full-time with the offer of a permanent contract for those who excel in post.

Those who have experience in the following areas would be of particular interest:

• Youth work

• Support work & residential care

• Learning mentor in secondary environment

• Prison officers/ tutors

• Graduates from relevant disciplines (Psychology, sociology)

The primary function of this post is to work collaboratively with the team supporting students in developing students confidence, self-esteem, increasing school participation and to generally cultivate greater aspirations to achieve, not only in education but in the their lives as a whole.
