Job description

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant for a Primary School in Leyland to support a pupil in key stage 2 who finds school enviornment challenging and struggles to self regulate their behaviour. The child is receiving assessment to get an EHCP.

The school would like to adapt the pupils environment in order to make the school day more manageable and therefore, the school would like to find an experienced Learning Support Assistant who can help the pupil to learn how to adapt to school life. The school focuses on nurture based theory meaning all staff in school must adopt a nuturing approach to all aspects of learning. A nurturing approach recognises that positive relationships are central to both learning and wellbeing. A key aspect of a nurturing approach is an understanding of attachment theory and how a child's early experiences can have a significant impact on their development.

As well as providing 1:1 support to this child you may also be required to be general classroom support and help students stay on task and engaged throughout the school day.

The school would accept applications from candidates who have previous experience working in a school, those with prior SEN experinece, those who come from a care background and sports coaches/mentors

This role is fulltime 8.30 am until 3:30 pm Monday – Friday (TERM TIME ONLY).

The pay for this role is £13.00- £15.25 P/H.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
