Behaviour Suppot Teaching Assistant - Stockport

Job description

A Pupil Referral Unit in Manchester are seeking to hire an enthusiastic and ambitious Teaching Assistant to support within their KS2 site in Stockport. This position has arisen due to an increase in pupil numbers and therefore requires more staff to support within the school.

This school caters for young people aged 5 - 11 who have been excluded from mainstream school due to a social, emotional or mental health need. This is a challenging setting that requires a strong willed and confident teaching assistant who is capable of managing challenging behaviour. Due to the immediate start, a team - teach qualification is highly desirable. For all other positions within this school it is not essential as Teaching Personnel run 12 hour courses each half term.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will;

  • Be passionate about developing the social and emotional development of young people
  • Have an awareness of the Primary Curriculum and be able to support across all subjects
  • Experience working with young people in an educational setting or non-educational

Ideally, the Teaching Assistant will have a DBS on the update service to allow for an immediate start.
