I am currently recruiting for experienced behaviour support workers to work in Special Educational Needs Schools and Alternative Provisions across Leeds and Wakefield.
The roles are offered on a short-term contract basis and can be cover from 1 day to 1 term. In the role as a Behaviour Support Worker, you’ll be working with students with various behavioural and emotional needs that require support on a 1:1 basis or in small groups. You will be offering short-term relief cover in specialist settings and schools.
You will be working with students between the ages of 3 – 19 years, supporting them to develop their skills, foster tolerance and confidence. You will need to be approachable, patient and be able to quickly build a strong rapport with the students. You will be supported by a large team of teachers and learning support assistants in school as well as external professionals including physio therapist, speech and language therapists and health care professionals. You will be required to work as part of a team but also be able to use your own initiative when engaging and supporting students.
This is a great opportunity for experienced Behaviour Support workers to work on a flexible basis and build links with new schools and teams. Confidence in working with students who display challenging behaviour is essential. Experience in some of the areas below are desirable but not essential:
• Team Teach Trained
• Approach Trained
• Restraint training
• Previous SEN / PRU experience
• Youth Work
• Sports background
