Behaviour Support Worker

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting aBehaviour Support Worker to join a supportive specialist education setting on an agency basis, for a long-term placement with the potential to continue ongoing. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about using sport, routine, and positive relationships to help young people thrive - particularly those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The Role

In this role, you will be working across the school day, supporting students both in and out of the classroom. You will play a key part in providing consistent SEMH support throughout the school environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs through positive behaviour strategies
  • Delivering and supporting PE / sports sessions (indoor and outdoor)
  • Building strong, professional relationships with students
  • Supporting learning in the classroom as a Teaching Assistant
  • Helping students regulate emotions and remain engaged throughout the day
  • Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support individual needs
  • Promoting teamwork, confidence, resilience, and healthy routines

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has experience as a Sports Coach, Teaching Assistant, or SEMH Behaviour Support Worker
  • Is confident working with challenging behaviour and emotional regulation needs
  • Can remain calm, consistent, and patient under pressure
  • Has a strong understanding of boundaries, routines, and safeguarding
  • Is passionate about using sport as a tool for engagement and development
  • Works well as part of a team and takes initiative when needed

  • Agency basis
  • Long-term placement
  • Full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Term-time only
  • Immediate start available

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
