Pay: £90 - £110 per day, depending on experience

Job Overview:
We are working with a South Manchester secondary school to appoint a full-time Behaviour Support Mentor. This role involves working closely with students at risk of exclusion or disengagement from education due to behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties. It’s a highly rewarding role ideal for those with youth work, mentoring, or pastoral support backgrounds.

Core Duties:

• Provide 1:1 and group mentoring to students with behavioural challenges

• Develop and implement individual behaviour support plans

• Act as a key worker for a caseload of pupils, offering emotional and academic support

• Work closely with teaching staff, the pastoral team, and external agencies

• Deliver targeted interventions focusing on resilience, social skills, and self-regulation

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Background in youth work, SEMH support, or mentoring

• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation strategies

• Ability to form trusting relationships with vulnerable pupils

• Resilience, empathy, and a solution-focused approach

• Safeguarding knowledge and ability to work within school policies

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
